How to download, install, and open Akrivi plugins

After you complete your purchase, downloading and installing your plugins, is quick and easy just make sure to follow each step carefully to avoid any issues.

Step 1: Complete checkout

To have an account with Akrivi, you must first complete checkout on www.akrivi.io

Your account is created automatically once you finish the checkout process and start your free trial.

Step 2: Open your 'Welcome' email

Right after checkout, you’ll receive several emails from Akrivi, 2 of those emails will contain your license keys, the subjects will be:

Welcome to Akrivi - Your Trial is Live!

The email you receive will include:

Your license key
A secure sign-in link to download the plugins
Links to YouTube tutorials showing how to use the tools

Didn't receive this email? Check out this guide.

Click the Download button in your email, or select Manage Orders.

Both options will take you to your account login page here: https://akrivi.onfastspring.com/account

If you purchased between November 1st, 2023 and July 12th, 2024, you may be a customer of our previous Fastspring store. Try logging in again here: https://gridit.onfastspring.com/account

Step 4: Unzip the downloaded file

After purchasing and downloading your plugin, you’ll get a .zip file.

Right-click and unzip/extract it
Inside, you’ll find either a .pkg (Mac) or .exe (Windows) installer

You must make sure Adobe Illustrator is closed before attempting to install

Step 5: Run the native installer

Use the installer that matches your system:

Mac: Open the .pkg file
Windows: Open the .exe file

Continue to follow the prompts to complete installation.

Step 6: Open the extension in Illustrator

Once the installation is complete, you can now open Adobe Illustrator.

To locate the extension, go to Windows > Extensions > Akrivi Plugin

If you're not able to see the extension there, close Illustrator and restart your machine.

Alternative method if your having issues

If the native installer doesn’t work, you can try installing the .zxp version manually.

This method is a fallback and only recommended if the standard installer fails.

Download a ZXP installer like Anastasiy's Extension Manager
Drag your .zxp file into the installer window
Wait for confirmation
