How to Update Akrivi Tools

If you have an active subscription, you can update to the latest versions at any time by uninstalling your current tools and installing the newest releases.

Step 1: Deactivate license

If you’ve upgraded or previously used the tools, your system may still be linked to an old license key, which will be revoked. Failing to deactivate it can cause activation issues later.

Before uninstalling, make sure you click “Deactivate license” in every Akrivi extension you have installed.

Once all licenses are deactivated, you can safely continue to Step 2

Step 2: Uninstall all current tools

You must uninstall every Akrivi extension using the menu button in the top right.

Step 3: Confirm un-installation

Before installing the update, make sure the previous version has been fully removed.

1. Check in Adobe Illustrator

  • Open Adobe Illustrator
  • Go to Window → Extensions
  • Confirm that no Akrivi tools appear
  • Close Illustrator

2. Check the extensions folder

Make sure the extensions folder does not contain any previous Akrivi tools:

  • Windows:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\

  • macOS:

    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/

IMPORTANT: Remove any older Akrivi files and empty your recycling bin before installing the update. This helps prevent installation issues, and avoid confusion.
