Get Started: Install & Activate Your Tools
If you have just signed up for Akrivi Studio, or trying to update your tools, installation is quick and easy.
Just make sure to follow each step carefully to avoid any issues.
You must first complete checkout on www.akrivi.io to get your license key.

Step 1: Download Files

Step 2: Unzip the downloaded file
After downloading, you’ll get a .zip file.
- Right-click and unzip/extract it
- Inside, you’ll find either a .pkg (Mac) or .exe (Windows) installer
If you have any previous Akrivi tools installed, please remove them before continuing.
Step 3: Run the native installer
Use the installer that matches your system:
- Mac: Open the .pkg file (Shown in the image on the left)
- Windows: Open the .exe file (Shown in the image on the right - may look different)
Continue to follow the prompts to complete installation.
If installation is successful, go to Step 4.

Alternative installation methods ONLY if you're having issues
These methods are a fallback and ONLY recommended if the standard installer fails.
Alternatice Method 1 - Anastasiy
- Download a ZXP installer like Anastasiy's Extension Manager
- Drag your .zxp file into the installer window
- Wait for confirmation
Alternative Method 2 - Folder drag & drop (Manual Installation)
First, locate your extensions folder on your machine:
- Windows path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\
- MacOS path: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/
- And then un-zip the download Akrivi folder.
- Drag the un-zipped folder into your extensions folder.

Step 4: Open the extension in Illustrator
Once the installation is complete, you can now open Adobe Illustrator.
Go to Windows > Extensions > Akrivi Plugin
To speed things up, open only 1 Akrivi extension first, and then move to step 5
If you're not able to see the extension there, close Illustrator and restart your machine.
Step 5: Enter your license key
On the first launch, a licensing window will appear asking for your key.
Check your email used at checkout and open the email we sent you with the subject line:
- 'Your Akrivi Studio License Key'
Copy and paste the key you copied from your email into the license key field.
Step 6: Activate license key
Click Activate License.
The plugin will verify your license instantly, and the full interface will load, ready for use.
If you're seeing this error 26:1, don't worry.
Click OK. If this causes any issues, please restart Illustrator.
