How to Add Another Logo Variation After Generating Brand Guidelines

After generating your brand guidelines with Guideit, you can add additional logo variations directly inside the same document.

If you need to add another logo variation—such as a horizontal lockup, vertical lockup, or alternative mark—follow the steps below to insert the new variation and update your brand guidelines.

Step 1: Generate

After uploading your logo, fonts, and colours, click Generate.

Step 2: Unlock layers

By default, templates use unlocked layers. If you’ve locked any layers after generating, make sure all layers are unlocked to avoid missing elements in the next steps.

Step 3: Duplicate artboards

Use the Artboard Tool to duplicate an artboard that contains a logo.

It’s recommended to duplicate a simple logo page from the logo section.

Step 4: Delete placeholders

By default, each template includes placeholders used for automation.

Delete any placeholders on the duplicated artboard to avoid generation issues on the new page.

Step 5: Select 'Lines' layer

You want to add your second logo variation on a seperate layer, that doesn't have automation elements. The 'Lines' layer is the best option.

Step 6: Add your second logo variation

Place your new logo variation on the LINES layer.

This keeps it separate from the default logo layers and helps prevent issues.

Step 7: Reorder the artboards

Use the Artboards panel to place the new artboard in the correct position within the document.

Step 8: Apply Changes

Click Apply Changes to automatically update page numbers and refresh the document based on the new artboard order.
